FAQ
How much is the puppy?
$2600 is the total cost to purchase a puppy. The initial $600 is done through the website to secure your spot on the waitlist. The remaining balance of $2000 is given in person when picking up the puppy.
When can I bring home my puppy?
Puppies can go home at 8 weeks after they have been seen by the vet and given their first round of vaccinations.
When does my new puppy need to go to the vet?
Their first round of vaccinations takes place around 6-7 weeks of age. Contact your vet to let them know the date of the first vaccination and they will put you on their schedule for the second and third vaccinations.
Will my puppy be microchipped?
Yes, we microchip all of the puppies before they go home. Once you have your puppy and the microchip number from your puppy packet, you should go to the microchip registry page to register their number. There are many different websites where this can be done but one we use is www.HomeAgain.com.
Do the puppies come with American Kennel Club registration forms?
Yes, all litters are listed with AKC. The puppy packet that we send home include the registration form.
What health tests have been done on the dogs?
All of our adult dogs must pass the breed recommended health tests before being considered for breeding. They have all been seen by a board certified cardiologist and have gone to an ophthalmologist to have their eyes checked. They also have their hips and elbows reviewed by OFA and have genetic testing done.
Can I breed my dog?
All of our puppies are sold with limited registration. In order to get this reversed, we have two requirements:
You must get your dog’s hips and elbows checked with OFA or with PENN HIP at two years or older, or they must pass with good or excellent OFA or acceptable measurements for breeding from PENN HIP.
Must do one of the following:
—Receive an AKC Master Hunter title.
—Pass NAVDHA UT test with at least a prize III.
—Qualify as an AKC Field Champion
How do I potty train my puppy?
We recommend crate training your puppy as soon as you get home. A smaller crate works best for your puppy so that they cannot soil on one side, and still lay comfortably on the other. They need to learn that it is not comfortable to soil their crate. Puppies typically need to go outside right after they eat, wake up, or come out of their crate. Consistency is the key to success when it comes to potty training.
When can I begin socializing my puppy?
Once your puppy has had all 3 rounds of their vaccinations, they are protected and socializing is safer for the puppy. Until all of the vaccinations have been given, avoid dog parks and areas with high dog traffic.
